February 16 Worship-Sixth Sunday of Epiphany

Join us on February 16 at the 9 am worship service as Rev. Dr. Craig Alwin shares the sermon, “Terribly Happy (Woefully Blessed)” Here are some questions to ponder for this Sunday’s sermon.

  • What were people in the crowd expecting from Jesus that day?
  • Why is it important that Jesus “looked up at his disciples” before teaching about blessing and woe?
  • How did Jesus’ teaching turn things upside down for people who had wealth, power, and privilege—the ones society considered to be blessed by God?
  • What is Jesus seeking from our congregation and from our lives as members?
  • What impact might this have as we live as disciples and witnesses today?
