This Sunday, October 5, we celebrate World Communion Sunday. The first Sunday in October is designated as World Communion Sunday, which celebrates our oneness in Christ with all our brothers and sisters around the world. Join us as Rev. Dr. Craig Alwin leads us for 9 am worship with the sermon, “Authentic Faith.”
Here are a few things to consider in preparation for worship on Sunday:
- What is “faith” to you? How would you define “faith” to a friend?
- How is our faith as small as the disciples when faced with improbable feats such as replanting a tree in the ocean, or stopping human trafficking, or ending senseless killings? Are those even possible?
- Is faith something that we understand as individuals, or within a community?
- How might “faith” be understood as an ordinary and everyday praxis, an ongoing spiral-like process of reflection, action, and grace?
