December 15 Worship-Third Sunday of Advent

Join us on December 15, as Rev. Dr. Craig Alwin leads us in 9 am worship with the sermon, “Shout and Sing for Joy.” Here are a few questions to consider in preparation for worship.

  • Isaiah 12:2 says, “God is indeed my salvation” and is the source of joy to those who believe.
  • Is Salvation limited to only our hope for heaven beyond this life?
  • How do we live out God’s salvation now, in the land of the living? (“But I have sure faith that I will experience the Lord’s goodness in the land of the living!” – Psalm 27:13)
  • What are the great real needs of our world today?
  • From what do you and those whom you love need most to be saved?
  • Luke 3:10 says, “The crowds asked him [John the Baptist], ‘What then should we do?’” This question is found several times in Luke-Acts, and the answer includes both repentance and actions of a changed life that foster a sense of true joy for our lives. This is a key element of the good news that John proclaimed about Jesus.
  • What does it mean to “produce fruit that shows you have changed your hearts and lives.” (Luke 3:8)?
  • What are examples of this “fruit” in our lives today?
