Join us on January 12, as Rev. Dr. Craig Alwin leads us in 9 am worship with the sermon, “Searching for Strangers.” Here are a few questions to consider in preparation for worship:
- Who were the Magi (also called wise men, gypsies, stargazers, Zoroastrian priests)?
- Why are they important to Matthew’s Gospel?
- The Magi were watching for signs of a savior, God’s presence in the world.
- What are we searching for today?
- What guided them? What guides us on our journey of searching?
Epiphany Star Words
We will be experimenting with a tradition that may be new to many of us: Star Words. During worship, each person will randomly select a star with a word written on it. This word will be yours to reflect on throughout the coming year. As each new day unfolds, take time to contemplate the word and notice how it illuminates the manifestation of God in your life. The purpose of this practice is to become more aware of God’s presence in the everyday and ordinary moments of life.
