June 8 Pentecost Sunday

Remember to wear red, yellow, or orange for Pentecost Sunday. Join us for 9 am Worship as Rev. Dr. Craig Alwin shares the sermon entitled, “The Peace of Pentecost.” Below are questions to consider for this Sunday’s sermon.

  • Why is Pentecost sometimes referred to as the “birthday of the Christian church” and other times as the “public manifestation of the Christian church?” What are the differences?
  • What is the importance of and connection between the words Father, Companion, and Orphans?
  • How is the peace given by Jesus an invitation to live together in Christian community?
  • What implications does the Pentecost story have for relationships between people who believe differently?
  • What implications does the Pentecost story have for how we structure our congregation?
