June 15 Outdoor Worship-Trinity Sunday

Join us as Rev. Dr. Craig Alwin leads us in 9 am Outdoor Worship in the church pavilion and shares the sermon, “Hearts of Hope.” This is Trinity Sunday. We believe in one Triune God, who exists as one being with three distinct, co-equal, and co-eternal persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. The Holy Trinity can not be understood as God “shifting” from one mode of being to another.

  • Reading John 16:12-15, how might Jesus’ statement “but you can’t handle it now” and his promise that the Spirit “will guide you in all truth” provide peace in our hearts as we embrace the mystery of the Trinity?
  • Reading Romans 5:1-5, what impact does the fact “the love of God has been poured into our hearts” have on our everyday and ordinary lives?
  • In what ways does Psalm 8 help us to live into the mystery of humanity’s interconnectedness with one another and the Triune God?
